It is always good to escape the city and travel somewhere out at least for a weekend. Were you ever looking for such an option? Here is how we did it. (I know that some of you don't like reading long stories, so I start with our bullet point introduction to Lloret del Mar just for you my busy Millenial girls. I hope you enjoy).
We fell in love with:
- Coastal walking paths
- The tiny medieval castle (Castell d’en Plaja) right next to the beach
- Hidden walking paths (detour from the coastal walking paths) which leads you to breathtaking views
- The Cala Banys restaurant. It is hidden between the palm trees right next to the rocky coastal path. Like a little heaven on earth (this is not a promotion but a personal experience since we truly enjoyed spending time there). This restaurant also has a secret path to beautiful viewpoints!
Best places to visit:
- Definitely the beach. They have even 5 of them!
- Santa Clotilde gardens
- If you love dancing then you must stop by the Disco Tropics club (again not a promotion but just a personal experience. This club is probably the biggest and most crowded in Lloret del Mar
- The Castell d’en Plaja
- The st. Joan castle. It is a very beautiful viewpoint!
So recently me and my boo got panicked that summer is over and that we didn’t see enough of sun and sea this year (well, when had it ever been enough of those things!). So we packed our stuff and escaped to this beautiful sunny country called Spain. It was very convenient that we didn’t have to travel far to enjoy the rays of sun and a warm sea.
Since it’s not the first time that we are going to Spain, this time we wanted to go somewhere less discovered, less crowded and yet beautiful. So here we were walking on the beach of Lloret del Mar.
The city has this beautiful small castle which stands right on the beach and is so easily accessible. There is a coastal path which runs on the side of the mountain for a couple of kilometers and connects this castle to the other part of the city. The view on the way is completely breathtaking and we had to stop so many times just to enjoy the scenery. To tell you the truth, we had got way more than expected! Our days were spent mostly walking around with eyes full of admiration! We even forgot the main thing that we came here for – to enjoy the beach 😀 It was just too many things to see around and enjoy…
One of the coastal paths led to the top of the hill where the st. Joan castle is. From there you can see the whole Lloret del Mar. Also, we couldn’t resist on stopping at the charming white Cala Banys restaurant on the way. It is surrounded by rocks, palm trees, sea and has this amazing interior and view. There we had a perfect relaxing time or maybe “siesta” :), and it looked as if that’s it, we don’t need to go anywhere else. We are already in paradise!
For those who would like to lounge and shop, Lloret del Mar also has what to offer. We enjoyed various cozy beach cafes and beautiful streets of the town.
To tell you the truth, if the world was not so big and if we were not so wondering to see everything in it, I would definitely keep coming back to relax to this beautiful town called Lloret del Mar. I hope you guys enjoyed our story from Spain. I also hope that you found some useful information here. If you have any travel tips that I should add or any comments, drop me an email, I will be happy to answer it. Until next time! Ciao xoxo
