We all know that specific clothes become our favourites not only because of how they look but also because of how they make us feel. Are they comfortable? Is the skin able to breath? Does the skin not get irritated? Are they easy to maintain? So here I’m listing my top 3 favourite fabrics to wear through the summer.
1. Linen
2. Silk
Silk has such a lovely look and feel, and you can get away with a very simple item if your fabric is silk. It has a smooth, soft texture that is not slippery, unlike many synthetic fibres. Although, these days you can find many forms of artificial silk or art silk which are also great in styling your wardrobe and helping you create that chic look, but real silk is loved for so many great qualities that it has. Silk is the strongest natural textile in the world and it also has antibacterial attributes (that’s why even surgeons use it). In certain lighting conditions, silk produces a shimmering optical effect like a subtle rainbow hue which has made it so famous. All in all, this fabric is really perfect if you want to create that luxurious look and even for the home use if you like to sleep on silk pillows and help your skin from breaking.
3. Cotton
Cotton is the fabric which I probably use the most. This textile creates more casual but also very comfortable look. It is soft, pleasant to the skin, absorbent, and comes in so many different types of products. We all probably have our favourite pair of jeans or t-shirt which we stick to through years. My summer closet consists of around 70% clothes made from cotton.
If you guys enjoyed reading about fabrics, I have some great news for you! I am planning a few more posts about each fabric individually, where I will include my favourite brands which specialises in producing clothes and other items made from these textiles. Stay tuned! xx
